Yet another pasta restaurant, but perhaps 1 feature that
keeps patrons coming back is its value-for-money dinner
buffet of starters and antipasti.
Unique
pasta dishes at this restaurant will tantalise even the
pickiest eater's tastebuds. For lovers of spicy food,
there is the Red Curry Cream Sauce and Green Curry Cream
Sauce (Thai green curry with tuna, olive oil, garlic,
coriander and limejuice). For Japanese cuisine fans, there
is the Mentaiko and Salmone Affumicato (smoked
salmon with ikura in double cream sauce). And of
course, they have the popular sauces like Marinara, Carbonara
and Vongole. Pasta sauces are also home-made by Italian-trained
house chef, Eric Lau, who had previously worked at Domus
at Sheraton Towers and Cascani at Pan Pacific Hotel.
Their
set lunch costs $8.90++ and includes a starter, pasta
and dessert of the day with coffee or tea. The set dinner
comes with a buffet serving starters, a choice of any
pasta and free flow of iced tea. It costs $14.90. Pasta
Fiesta is offering a 20% discount for its dinner buffet.

Red Curry Cream Sauce
Consisting
of Thai red curry with prawns and coriander in double
cream sauce, Red Curry Cream Sauce is the most popular
of Pasta Fiesta's specialties. It could be due to its
spicy curry taste, a taste that most Singaporeans are
familiar with. The sauce looks and tastes really appetising.
The cream sauce gives it a sweet yet spicy taste.
Red
Curry Cream Sauce costs $11.

Aglio, Olio E Peperoncino
This
house specialty was disappointing although staunch vegetarians
and health freaks may gravitate to this because of the
lack of other alternatives. The spaghetti is tossed in
chopped garlic and scented with basil and Italian parsley,
which would have been fine if they hadn't drenched it
in olive oil.
Aglio,
Olio E Peperoncino costs $8.

Mentaiko
A
much-desired dish among Japanese patrons, the cream-based
mentaiko (cod fish roe) is dotted with ravishingly
spicy cod fish role that exudes a fresh seafood scent
through every corner of your mouth. The chef tones down
the experience with pudgy cherry tomatoes that makes the
colourful spaghetti nutritious, which should make it appealing
to the health-conscious Japanese.
Mentaiko
costs $12.

Dessert
Tiramisu
A
popular favourite in Italian restaurants, this delicacy
does not contain alcohol unlike traditional Tiramisu.
This is to cater to Pasta Fiesta's Muslim and younger
customers. It tastes like most Tiramisu except that it's
creamier. Nonetheless, it's a great way to round off a
meal.
Tiramisu
costs $4.

Service
The
service is excellent at Pasta Fiesta. The service crew
is polite and attentive to the customers' needs. Dirty
plates are cleared promptly and water glasses are refilled
as soon as they are half-empty. Patrons are also greeted
cheerily as they enter or leave the restaurant.
Ambience
The
yellowish lights at Pasta Fiesta create a very homely
feel. The dιcor is modern, with the restaurant situated
on a raised platform. The interior is shaped in a circle,
with the buffet in the middle, making it easy for not
only the service crew to walk around, but also the patrons.
Yet another restaurant at Meridien Hotel with an open
kitchen concept, Pasta Fiesta has been designed this way
because people like to see the chef cooking, its manager,
Ms Jenny Chia, says.
