Buttercup
Coffee
Quirky beat
Jokes aside, it’s not only the Hello-Kitty-cute name that attracts customers to this open-concept eatery; the food no doubt is the main draw. Match that with good service and a refreshing, upbeat ambience and you might easily be their next regular customer. One can’t help but feel relaxed in the simple soothing atmosphere that Buttercup Coffee provides. Tunes that are a lovely mix of jazz and blues definitely help make dining there a calming experience.
Their furniture also complements the open feel of the place. Transparent plastic chairs give that floating feeling and you might like the generous amount of natural sunlight pouring through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Fusion Fixation The Japanese Sesame Noodle ($9.50) was served cold in a brilliant array of colourful greens and topped off with black and white sesame seeds. The noodles were placed in the centre, surrounded by a bed of lettuce, purple lettuce, cabbage and cherry tomatoes, lending that touch of fusion. You have a choice of chicken, beef or salmon and the prices vary between $9.50 to $11.50, depending on which meat you choose. All that’s in between Their sandwiches include Italian ($7.50), which consists of tomatoes, mozzarella and basil pesto. If you fancy fish, there’s the Tuna Melt ($7.80). Roast Beef is served in well-toasted and thick slices of foccacia bread and has melted cheese and sliced roast beef in between. The sandwich is served with French grain mustard, which adds a tang to the whole bite; really complementing the beef and cheese. The price of $9.80 might put you back a bit, but once you take your first bite, you know it’s all worth it. All sandwiches are served with salad on the side. The vegetable salad is made up of alfafa sprouts, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, and drizzled with olive oil. Decadent
sins One look at it and you’ll practically be thankful you have tastebuds. The chocolate is rich and flavourful. The brownies are moist and baked to perfection. The vanilla gelato lifts the whole package. The pralines taste divine. Chocolate Cosmopolitan is every chocoholic’s dream. It is served artistically too, making one almost reluctant to spoil the ‘art’ and consume it. If you fancy waffles, then try the hot Buttercup Milk Waffles ($6.50) served with gelato and strawberry and mango compote. The Verdict Rating: The Place Opening Hours *Closing time depends on timings of movies at the cinema. Getting there Note: 10% service charge and 5% GST. |
