During its recent run on Channel 5, the reality show phenomenon called American Idol, like its previous season, left the streets of Singapore eerily quiet after 10pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as a vast number of the population, young and old alike, were glued to their television sets as they watched aspiring talents attempt to land a record contract.

This time, you can watch 7 of your favourite idol contestants perform in the flesh at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Oct 5.

Fantasia and Diana will be here, together with second runner-up Jasmine Trias, the effervescent Jon Peter Lewis, the energetic George Huff and the dynamic divas, Jennifer Hudson and LaToya London. There has also been talk that the Singapore Idol finalists could play a part in the concert.

Believe it or not, Singapore is the only stop outside of the United States and the final one of the American Idols Live! Tour.

“A lot of the [American Idol] kids are getting their passports for the first time; Singapore will be the first international destination for them,” said Ross Knudson of organiser LAMC Productions in an interview with ChannelNewsAsia.
