Growing up, Kirsty Lai is used to sharing her parents’ love with a biological sister and 4 foster siblings, who live with the family from time to time.

In Singapore, the number of foster parents registered under the Ministry of Social and Family Development stood at 470 in 2018. This is a marked increase from just 5 years ago.
